Sunday Visit

A busy Sunday... I'm glad it's over but we had lots of fun. Christina finally came to visit with family and our mom. Came after church so it was Keira's naptime when they showed up. We kept Keira up watching Finding Nemo (for the umpteenth time!). She gets scared when the fish attacks at the beginning and then starts to hide when she knows the shark's gonna appear. hehe.

Had a great lunch as Chris brought some corn, yummy! And the kids had fun together. Let's see...Adam + Keira = trouble. Adam + Keira + Caleb = insanity. LOL! It's funny to watch Caleb since he's younger. Whatever Keira and Adam are doing, he wants to join in too. Usually we watch Adam and Keira trying to do what older kids are doing. Fun!

We also had our friends Jean and Guy drop by so everyone got to know them as well. Guy came by to finish up screwing the floor boards on our deck. And then they stayed for supper. It's great to finally enjoy our backyard and not having to go out the front door to get to the back.

All in all, an exhausting but fun day..

Another summer weekend

Ah..another wonderful summer weekend. Why do weekends pass so quickly?! We registered Keira and myself for some swimming lessons in September at the local swimming/centre loisir near our house. She will be put in the "canards" section. Good, since she loves to say "quack quack". lol. Hopefully, she won't freak in the big pool. She's already pretending to swim in the bathtub!

Today, off to the "new park" and made some lovely little friends. Even spoke to an anglophone today! wow. Of course, Keira will go up to any other kids. Sometimes though, the other kids are too shy or too... well, kids! to want to play with her. It's tough to see her being ignored by the bigger girls who think they're too big to play with a toddler. But Keira being Keira, will go to other kids and play with them. Gotta find kids her age around here and set up some playdates. I don't know what's going on around here but she's surrounded by boys! Boys at the babysitter's, her cousins are boys, our neighbours have boys... boys boys boys! lol.

I made the mistake of logging onto YouTube and playing some Puffy Ami Yumi songs to Keik. Ended up listening to the opening song of Teen Titans over and over and over and over....And also listening to Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi show..over and... I am Puffy'd out!

R. Hélène Amram - Portraits

A note on the portrait of Keira that is in our playroom/office (my favourite part of the house!): I was fortunate to have worked with a wonderful and gifted artist who was my coworker at Alliance..Hélène Amram. She painted the portrait of Keira (working off of photos I had provided).

Home Sweet Home

Well, finally getting settled in our new home but only managed to repaint Keira's bedroom which used to be a little boy's room. It's now lovely pale...pink! Still trying to figure out where to put up our paintings etc but we've got plenty of time for that.

Next thing on our list that must get done is a deck/patio in the back. Otherwise, it's a 3/4-feet drop to the ground! What a hassle to get to the backyard. We've got to go through the front or garage door and then to the back. Next spring, we'll get a fence going as well. We've already had to chase Keira from our neighbours' lawns (and worry about their pools). Keira loves to strip buck-naked and jump into her kiddie whale pool out back.

Keira and I managed to go for a walk to get acquainted with the neighborhood.

Hmm..landscaping..next year's project...
