Keira's First Swimming Lesson

A big activity for Keik this morning. Her first swimming lesson! She's placed in the "Canards" group. Either parent can swim with the child. First obstacle? The prerequisite shower before entering the pool. Not too bad, didn't scream or cry like I thought she would.
She couldn't wait to get in that water. And once she did, clung to me like cling-film. lol. Teeth chattering but smiling, we had loads of fun! Boy does she like to be with other kids. I am soo short, the water comes to my neck-level! At least I don't have to bend down to keep Keira under water. Lucky for us the air and pool are heated. Yay! A big success. And a big enough activity for Keira, she's been napping since noon!
Do the monkey! Ooh-ooh-ah-ah..

Ah yes, another Wiggles weekend! These 2 dvd's are looped all day long...lord help us. But the songs are so darn catchy! I am shushed by Keira when her favourite songs play: Dorothy the Dinosaur and Do the Monkey. I am not even allowed to clap my hands or else I get the "arret-mama! arret! stoppit! stoppit!"
Once she pulled my hand, directed me to the stairs and pushed. lol. I guess I had to go.
At least when the Wiggles are on, I can go downstairs and a) cook b) clean up. Oh fun oh joy.

Centre de la Nature-Laval..Journée de la famille

Another outing today...This time to the Centre de la nature in Laval which we've never gone to before. Went there with Chris and family. Wow, this is a pretty big spot. They've got a farm, a greenhouse, lake, areas to picnic, an awesome park for big and little kids, train ride etc. And since this was Family Day everything was free!
Good thing we arrived early as parking filled up fast. When we left at 1 pm, parking was on the side of any and all roads!
When Keira saw all the air-filled balloon structures, she went nuts! Couldn't decide which ones to go on first. Then she ran from one side of the park area to the other. Ai carumba! The only caveat: she's afraid of sliding. She can climb til there's no tomorrow but can't make it past the slide hump. The staff always have to slide down with her. Lol!
We brought our own picnic lunch (who wants to pay for hot dogs?!) and had a great time. We even got to go on the train ride! Geez, how corny but so much fun. Was it ever hard to get the kids off at the end.
I love watching these kids play together. Although, I must admit..Keira is an independant kid. She'll go where she wants to go and won't wait for anyone. Including us! If she catches a glimpse of us somewhere, she's fine. Sadly, we will have to teach her to pay attention and not trust every single adult/kid out there.
This was a great day to get her pooped out for bed! Well, 2 episodes of the Wiggles, 1 episode of Thomas the Train and then bed!
The Incredibles! And other Disney movies...

Here's Keira favourite "book" right now..The Incredibles! Or as she calls it, thecredibles. And occasionally, in a funny voice she'll say "mIster incwedible! ha ha ha!". This book is one of those "what's different" books. Same scenes on both pages except they change some stuff so you have to point out what's different.
Adam's good with this, he can point out what's missing. For instance, on one page there's Frozone, on the other he's not there. Therefore Adam points it out: Frozone (points to left side of book), No Frozone (right side of book). Keira will just say "where's mstincredible?! where's mstincredible?! oh no! oh no!". hehehe.
Here's how the Incredibles add up in importance to her:
MstIncwedible
Lastihgirl
BabeeJhackjhack
Dash
Violet or sometimes Biolet (that's the half korean of her speaking)
Fwozone
and her newest love: Nemo! Minus the beginning where they get attacked and the shark part (hides behind anyone and the sofa).
Gotta love Disney!
