Kung Fu Panda

Check out this korean version of the poster...gotta love those phonetics!

Well, we finally went to see the movie Kung Fu Panda. All I can say is...get rid of the trailers before the film! I work for a movie distribution company and I realize trailers are our business but...for kids under 5, those trailers are a pest! Toddlers really can't get it that these are like "commercials" and once they're done, the movie will start.

Nope, most of the kids whined and finally cried thinking we (the parents) duped them into seeing something else completely. Oi. I caved in and gave Keira a taste of popcorn which she immediately spat back out (in my hand! ew), then I grabbed the chocolates hubby was holding and gave them to her. lol. Sadly, alot of the trailers aren't even geared towards a younger audience. Aside from Wall-E, most of them were scary.

The movie finally started and the crying abated. Whew! I must admit, some parts of this movie was scary. Keira hid behind her sweater for some parts and when it got really scary for her..yelled out that she wanted to go home! lol. But it was awesome. Jack Black, love that guy! That panda is cute.

Oddly enough, I don't see alot of marketing and toys for this movie. Perhaps because it just started in theatres? In any case, every Happy Meal comes with a Kung Fu Panda toy. Is it sad to admit that I've been looking high and low for that panda toy??? hmm..perhaps.

Swingset!

Finally, our good friend Guy came by yesterday to help out with the swingset. I was pretty sceptic, thinking this is a project that'll probably take a good 2 days. But they finished it up right before supper time! Even before it was finished, Keira checked it out, climbing the ropes, the ladder, and when the slide was finally installed, went down it dozens of times.

We had great company as well, Keira's cousins came by along with Loulou and Grandma. So on top of a great barbeque supper, Keira went nuts on that swingset with her cousins til 9:30 at night!

Family Baby Shower

First outfit of the day...didn't last long though.

This weekend, we had some family over for a baby shower. All we did was offer up the house as location and my brother and sister in law did the rest. Well, I did clean the house hehe but they supplied all drinks food and extra table and chairs. Whew but what a hot and humid day! I should have known that my allergies would hit me like a torpedo.

Luckily, everyone stayed outside instead of inside though, I don't know how they did it! It was hot and humid! Keira was so excited to see everyone, she just HAD to change her outfits, oh..about 20 times. "I want to show Richard my t-shirt, the red one...I want to show LouLou my dress" and on and on it went. lol.

The food was amazing, my brother-in-law has this slow steamer and made his famous smoked-meat. Wow, yummy! The best part was everyone got to leave with a big chunk of smoked-meat as well.

Was a good day for a party, a bad day for an allergy-sufferer. lol.

Well, I have to post about it...it's a first!

Today is officially the first day Keira finally pooped in the potty. Yes! I have to jot this down for posterity because I never thought this day would ever EVER arrive. A huge sigh of relief? Oh yes (with a hint of pride, hehe). So far, Val and I have noted that Keira's been pretty darn good going to the potty, keeping even her pull-ups dry (we're still working on the night part though).

Lately though, she's been doing the #2 in her undies at Val's and demanding the pull-ups at home. The day before yesterday though, Emmy was over at Val's and I think she told Keira that in order to play with her during summertime, not only does she have to be a big girl and use the potty, but she needs to do the #2 too. I think it worked! Apparently today, she was taking a stroll with Val's hubby and suddenly told him she needed to see Val. Back in the house, there you have it!

I am seriously thinking of getting Emmy something...something at Disneyland since it's her dream to visit cuz gosh-darnnit! She deserves it!

Sunday Ikea Breakfast!

Breakfast @ Ikea's...& checkin' the beds..

Playing in Ikea

Our marmotte in the backyard

I've never eaten at Ikea's before. The concept was new to me even though I knew for years that Ikea had it's own cafeteria-style restaurant. My good friends Mike and Karin introduced me to it and I love it! I love the family seating in the cafeteria, the inexpensive food and how low key it is. And of course, we get to shop afterwards. hehe. Always a bonus.

We had a lovely mid-morning breakfast and then the girls, Ella & Keira always love to check out the beds in Ikea. They love checking the beds, the bedding, the mattress, jumping up and down, hide n seek, you name it. It's just fun!

Afterwards, we just hung out at our house and had lunch. I love watching these 2 girls just hang out and have fun. They're now at that stage where they can talk with each other (in that special language toddlers have!) and play dress-up, draw, paint, run around, etc. Keira loves to be with Ella and asks for her alot. Keira also loooooves Ella's little 8 month old brother Jonathan. She has this fascination with babies and treats them so well! I'm amazed. I had to stop Keira all day from touching Jono as she had a cold but if she didn't, she would be all over this kid. lol.

Good times good times, the Domingoes are fabulous people. I love them.

Hugtime... Can you tell they love to dress-up??

Awesome Jonathan!
