Spring has sprung!

Spring! It's here! And what a beautiful day it was today. Cleared the dead leaves & dead plants, blasted the last bump of snow in the front yard all the while Keira played in the backyard (with her Papa of course). Didn't take Keira long to remove her coat, cache-cou, boots, socks and pants (papa gave her shorts). By suppertime, she was down to her undies outside (and I had to fight to keep those on!). Please no more snow and let the sunshine continue, it was glorious!

1 project down, hundreds more to go

Went off to Fabricville today and found some terrific stuff. I'd love to be able to have some free time for all these projects in my head but... life gets in the way every time! At least I got to start and finish this one. Wanted to cover the back of the shelf and I knew with the glitter and butterflies, Keira would love this. And she does!

Keira's long-awaited school project comes home! We've been hearing about this mask for a while now. It finally came home on Friday, wrapped in clear plastic with a ribbon tied around it. lol. The plaster was cast using a pre-made mold and Keira painted it. I can't wait for the 'ashtrays', 'hand-print molds', and other kooky kid-made stuff!

It's Spring! You know what that means...

It means that Keira no longer sleeps with night-time Pull-Ups! In fact, lately she's been complaining to us everytime we put on the Pull-Ups for her that, "j'suis une grande fille maintenant! suis pas un bébé". Of course, she loves pretending still being a baby sometimes (especially when she wants that extra attention!) but there are some things that she feels she's "too old" for.

Bye-bye Cars Pull-Ups....

I'm so happy watching her grow and so sad that baby-dom is gone. I'm off to Fabricville soon and will see about changing her baby curtains. I wish they had an on-line store where I can just choose my fabrics, order per metre and have it delivered. sigh.

Wha?

I don't know what's going on at school but...why is Keira counting numbers in spanish??

Just some candid & random pics..

Jokester in the water....When it's about time to get out of the water she'll take a look at her fingers and say, "look mama! my finger all raisins!"

BTW, the water changes colour depending on what foamy soap she likes to dispense (and waste!) in the water...we have blue melon, green watermelon and pink princess-something-or-other..

This is how Keira really is! Ever-moving..

March 14, 2009

I must ask this question, why does Keira wake up so easily on the weekends and not on the weekdays? Weekends I finally get some time to sleep in but what do I get? "mama? are you awake? hey, mama! WAKE UP!!! it not dark any-mohr". Week day mornings I get this from her, "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I tired!!!!".

My Own Blythe Doll

I love these Blythe dolls! Maybe cuz they remind me (in some small ways) of Keira.
: ) No matter how horribly I cut Keira's hair, it somehow repositions itself to look pretty darn good! Like these Blythe dolls. Probably has to do with how whisper-thin her hair is..

Ok, where did my baby go? Who's this little girl??

How'd she get this big? Why is she talking like I can understand her? Where'd my baby go?!

Doing her best impersonation of Vanessa Hudgens in HSM

Singing her little heart out...

"So Keira, you're Vanessa?" Keira-"Yeah. But my hair not like hers. Hers all wiggly."

Spring Break is Officially Over

Ah, spring break. Well, I wrote that my hubby had everything planned and under control. Sadly, both he and Keira got sick last week and didn't do half the things that were planned. They made it to the Planetarium but Keira was too sick to go see the Shilvi show. And the tickets were paid for... : (

They pretty much stayed home and Keira slept for the entire week. She finally got better by the weekend and yesterday, we were able to go to the Disney on Ice show. Yay! I love the costumes and show they put on. It's almost (almost! not quite) like being back in Disneyland. Luckily, there were so many ppl buying merchandise, Keira couldn't see what was on sale. Whew. We did buy her the program which she LOVES looking at every night. Like reliving the moment. Last night, she shooed me out of her room while she gazed lovingly at Ariel's photos in the program. lol. It's too bad the Cars part of the show was short because it was what she looked forward to the most. And then spent the rest of the show asking me "where's McQueen??".

And now, forward with the clocks and back to school! Oh, it was truly yugly getting Keira up and out.

High School Musical Madness

There's High School Musical madness in this house! To be honest, I like it too. hehe. The catchy tunes, the choreography, that amazing high school cafeteria! Americans do it BIG (it's why they fall farther and faster too). We've been looped on HSM3 (I think the best of the 3, so far). And who's Keira's fave? Why it's Vanessa aka Gabriella of course! She even wants me to do her hair like hers. It really is hard to curl super straight hair (anyone have tips?).

This'll segue into spring break coming up. Lucky Papa! Although le Papa has shown me his itinerary for himself and Keira for the upcoming week. On the schedule: A visit to the Planetarium (free admission for kids 5 and under!), the Shilvi show at Quartier Dix30 (tickets already bought), skating at our local park, a maybe ski-day at Rigaud with Chris and family and the Disney on Ice show (I get to go on that one since it's next Sunday). I was duly impressed.
