On our way...
Arielle makes her happy
Whoa! It's Ursula...
All week, Keira's been wondering why Papa gets to stay home with her for Spring Break and not Mom. A few times this week, she's shown her frustration and anger at me for not staying home by not coming to see me when I walk through the door or verbally venting at me. So I'm glad I bought tickets to see Disney's Princess on Ice for today.
Keira had a great time choosing her princess outfit and felt great once we got to the center. Last year, she felt out of place since all the little girls had their costumes on. This year, she felt and looked like all the other princesses there. Except (and I'm biased here), she looked infinitely prettier. hehe.
Thankfully this year, I told Keira we wouldn't be getting her any of the cheesy merchandise on offer there (this year's offerings were really bad and even more stupendously stupidly priced than last year!). But once the halftime hit, I went out and got her a wand and the program. She loves to read that at night. I did buy the popcorn since the show was at 11am and we were getting hungry. For $7 dollars!! Outrageous.
Hitting the underground city
Afterwards, we decided to hit the underground and go sight-seeing/shopping downtown. Montreal's underground is the biggest in the world I think. It's incredible. It's an incredible maze of tunnels, passageways and underground shopping connecting several of the big malls, downtown and all the way down to Old Montreal chinatown. Of course, if you don't know your way you can get lost and stuck down there for a few hours. But a few pleasurable hours. Since I've worked downtown and Old Montreal for years now, I know my way around. The main shopping street downtown, St Catherine's street.
Place Montréal Trust
yep, she wore her princess costume all day!
Ice cream before heading home at Laura Secord
Keira always loves to stop at the fountain in Place Montreal Trust. She dumped all my pennies in the water. Hope she wished for us to win the lottery. We ate a very late lunch at Simon's department store food court. I had vietnamese, sooo good. I wanted to go to Zara Kids but they were closed for renovation. Zara women was open and I loved every single thing there! I'll go back when it's just me shopping.
It was a gorgeous sunny and warm day. We'll be back downtown soon enough. The St Patty's day parade is just around the corner! And I've already got Keira's Irish hat and flag ready!
